Brief history of the choir
The choir was originally formed in 1984 as the Georgian Festival Chorus and frequently performed in Bath. Eight years later it was relaunched as the Chandos Singers with a new policy of performing short works, usually from the Baroque period. Since 1997, the choir has performed a more varied repertoire. In March 2000, Malcolm Hill took over as music director.
